A £300,000 Lotto windfall is set to give Kincardine a jobs boost. Fife Council has been awarded £300,000 of funding from the Coastal Communities Fund (CCF), delivered by The Big Lottery Fund, to boost economic growth and create more jobs in and around Kincardine.
This funding will support a new wave of action focused on diversifying the local economy in the coastal communities of Kincardine, Culross, Valleyfield, Newmills and Torryburn.
The project will create modern business infrastructure encouraging new, innovative enterprises to serve the area.
The project, ‘Discovering Fife Forth – Connecting Coast, Heritage and History’, will develop opportunities for business growth and job creation along the Forth coast by creating new light industrial workshops in the Kincardine area, attract more visitors by enhancing the facilities at Devilla Forest and the Fife Coastal Path, and deliver town centre improvements.
Altany Craik, convener of the economy, tourism, strategic planning and transportation committee, Fife Council, said: “We are delighted to receive this funding that will further support us to make Fife a great place to live, work, visit and invest in by boosting our local economy.
